Here are some guidelines as to what CAN and CANNOT go into the curbside compost buckets
What CAN go in the bucket
- Fruit and Vegetable Scraps
- Egg Shells
- Meat & bones
- Pasta, rice, bread
- Coffee grinds & tea bags
- Solid dairy products like cheese, yogurt
- Stale chips
- Fish
- Herbs & spices
- Baking ingredients
- Old house plants including soil (not the pot)
Please DO NOT put these in your bucket:
- Liquids
- Grease & oil
- Paper towels
- Fruit stickers
- Muffin wrappers
- To go containers (even if they say compostable!)
- Plastic
- Pet waste
- Hair/fur
- Clams, mussels, oysters
- Toilet paper rolls
- Charcoal, fire pit ashes
- Pet food
- Wrappers
- Items labeled bio-degradable
- Cigarettes
- Dental floss, Q-tips
- Baby wipes
- Dryer sheets, lint
